The King of the Road

Today I've visited a couple of car salesmen as I consider changing my BMW for an even bigger car, a so called SUV ( Sport Utility Vehicle ). My favourite SUV is a BMW -X5. When the salesman told me how much I would lose on this transaction, my jaw dropped. Well, I'm not going to make a losing bargain so I decided to keep my almost brand-new car two or three more years. In fact, a large SUV - and even a midsize one - consumes more or much more gas. Anyway, I can't help loving such cars as you are sitting higher, you have more space inside and you really feel like a king of the road. Hm...who knows, maybe in the future.

Odwiedzilem dzisiaj pare salonow samochodowych, poniewaz rozwazalem mozliwosc zamiany mojego dotychczasowego samochodu BMW na jeszcze wiekszy tzw. SUV ( Sport Utility Vehicle ). Moim faworytem w tej klasie jest BMW X 5. Kiedy sprzedawca oznajmil mi jednak ile stracilbym na tej transakcji to opadla mi po prostu szczeka. Nie zamierzam zatem przeprowadzic tej niekorzystnej dla mnie wymiany i dlatego zdecydowalem, ze zatrzymam moj prawie nowy samochod na jeszcze dwa, trzy lata. Poza tym tego rodzaju samochod (SUV) pali wiecej niz zwykly osobowy samochod, poza moze malymi modelami. No coz, zawsze podobaly mi sie tego rodzaju samochody z napedem na cztery kola, w ktorych siedzi sie wyzej, wiecej jest miejsca w srodku no i ma sie rzeczywiescie wrazenie, ze jest sie krolem drogi. Jezdzilem takimi samochodami wiec wiem o czym mowie. Hm...kto wie, moze jednak w przyszlosci...

I've just begun reading a new book - The Black Angel, and I hope I shan't be disappointed. It's about a young woman who goes missing from the streets of New York. Those who have taken her believe that nobody cares about her, and that no one will come looking for her. They are wrong ! She is "blood" to the killer Louis, the man who stands at the right hand of private detective Charlie Parker, and Lousi will tear apart anyone who stands in the way if his attemps to find her. John Connolly, who wrote this book was born in Dublin in 1968 and he is the first non- American writer to win the US Shamus award. Wlasnie zaczalem czytac nowa ksiazke - The Black Angel i mysle, ze bedzie w miare interesujaca. Opowiada ona o mlodej dziewczynie, ktora zyje na ulicach Nowego Jorku. Ci, ktorzy sadza jednak, ze dziewczyny tej nikt nie szuka sa w wielkim bledzie ! Louis, ktory jest morderca i prawa reka prywatnego detektywa Charlie Parker'a zniszczy wszystkich, ktorzy stana na jego drodze prowadzacej do odszukania dziewczyny. The birthday party

Two days ago I had my birthday party and I got this congratulatory scroll from my daughter Isabella as a little enclosure to my main presents. It's written in Swedish, however I'm not going to reveal its essence - sorry for that. After I had got my presents ( unusually many this year ) I ate a very delicious fruit layer cake. Even Robert Maklowicz himself ( a very known Polish cook ) couldn't have done it better.





Dwa dni temu mialem urodziny i z tej okazji dostalem od mojej corki ( najmlodszej ) Isabelli ladna laurke jako zalacznik do moich glownych prezentow. Jest ona pisana oczywiscie po szwedzku ale ja zachowam jej tresc dla siebie samego. Nastepnie zjadlem super smacznego torta ktorego chyba sam Robert Maklowicz ( znany polski kucharz ) nie powstydzilby sie.

There is no doubt that the winter has already come even here in the southern Sweden. Oh ! - poor bikes. I wouldn't like to be in their shoes...hi hi hi.

I took all these shots during the last summer at the BO-O1 area in Malmö where Turning Torso is (one of the highest buildings in the world). You can also see my daughter Isabella who just loves her skateboard as well as all kinds of sports. I’m trying on the other hand to document all this with the aid of my camera.

The sea

Although there is a winter time now, I hope you don't mind if I publish a couple of my photos from the last summer. This is probably my way to survive that boring, windy and cloudy period of the year. By the way, I've never said that my blog is going to be "normal" so please enjoy these beautiful sights and try to imagine the sound of the sea-waves and the sea-gulls chattering loudly.

Fall has already come to stay for good with its cloudy, rainy and windy weather. Well...for several weeks anyway. I can at least enjoy the last sunny days in this season by looking at the pictures below that I took in the Pildamms park at the end of last summer.

No coz...jesien zadomowila sie juz na dobre ze swoja pochmurna, deszczowa i wietrzna pogoda, a przynajmniej na pare najblizszych tygodni. Moge tylko wspominac ostatnie sloneczne dni patrzac na zdjecia , ktore zrobilem w ostatnich dniach minionego lata.

A Painted House

I would like to recommend strongly to all of you, one of the best books I have ever read, written by John Grisham - A Painted House. It's September 1952. The cotton is almost ready in the fields of Arkansas. The harvest will soon begin. Luke Chandler is a seven-year-old who lives with his family in a small, unpainted house on rented land. In the next six weeks, the Chandlers and a hired band of hill people and Mexicans must bring in the cotton that is their livelihood and the garantee of their survival on the land.
Soon heat, rain, fatigue, a killing and the unraveling of a family secret threaten to distroy the Chandlers hopes and will transport Luke abruptly from childhood innocence to experience.

Chcialbym polecic wszystkim jedna z najlepszych moim zdaniem ksiazek "A Painted House" - napisana przez John Grisham'a. Jest wrzesien 1952 rok. Bawelna jest juz prawie gotowa do zbiorow na polach Arkansas. Luke Chandlers to siedmioletni chlopiec, ktory wraz ze swoja rodzina mieszka w malym niepomalowanym domu na wydzierzawionej ziemi. Przez kolejne szesc tygodni rodzina jego, jak rowniez wynajeci przez nich ludzie ze wzgorza oraz grupa Meksykanow, bedzie pracowac ciezka na polach bawelny co jest dla nich gwarancja przezycia do kolejnych zbiorow. Wkrotce upal, deszcze, zmeczenie, morderstwo i odkrycie tajemnicy rodzinnej zagraza nadziejom Chandlerow. Maly Luke przechodzi nagle ze spokojnego dziecinstwa do swiata ludzi doroslych.

Bike-trip

Clear blue sky, just right temperature and gentle, caressing wind...What else do you need for a nice and pleasant trip around your neighbourhood. Furthermore, if you are in possession of a bicycle, you are the most lucky man in the world.
